How we handle your information

FairWende ("we," "us") is building a fair-chance hiring platform for the DACH region. This policy explains what information we collect through this website today, why, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
FairWende is currently operated by Afzal Ali, founder, based in Vienna, Austria, during the venture's incubation and pre-incorporation phase. Once FairWende is formally incorporated, this section will be updated with the registered company name and address.

What we collect today
This website is currently an early-access page. The only information we collect is what you give us if you join the waitlist:
- Email address — so we can contact you when the platform launches
- Role you selected — job seeker, employer, or NGO/partner — so we can send you relevant updates
We do not currently ask for your name, your work history, or any information about criminal records on this website. That will only happen inside the actual platform, once it launches, under a separate and more detailed policy built specifically for that data.
Why we process it, and on what legal basis
We use your email and role selection only to notify you about the FairWende launch and related updates. Our legal basis for this is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give explicitly by ticking the checkbox when you join the waitlist.
You can withdraw this consent at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Where your data is stored
Your waitlist information is stored with Supabase, in a database region located in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). We chose this deliberately — FairWende is committed to keeping personal data within the EU wherever we control that choice.

As of August 2026, this site loads its own typefaces directly — nothing is fetched from Google or any other US-based service to render this page. That's a deliberate choice, not a default: we removed our earlier dependency on Google Fonts specifically to keep this site's external footprint entirely within the EU.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist information until the platform launches and you've had a chance to migrate to a full account, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. If you don't create an account after launch, we'll delete waitlist records within 12 months of collection.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, analytics, or any tracking technology. We don't track you across sites, and we don't build an advertising profile from your visit.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — ask us what data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — limit how we use your data
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format
- Object — object to our processing
- Withdraw consent — at any time, with no effect on past processing
To exercise any of these, email privacy@fairwende.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you believe we've mishandled your data, you can complain directly to us, or to Austria's data protection authority:

Changes to this policy
As FairWende moves from this waitlist page to a full platform handling candidate profiles and employer data, this policy will be replaced with a significantly more detailed version — covering things like Article 10 special category data, our GDPR-native matching architecture, and data retention across the full product. We'll notify waitlist members when that happens.
